A reader’s poem

Desire

When I come to describe you

I cannot see your eyes

They look away

When I come to think of you

I cannot feel your lips

They close together

When I choose to ignore you

You stand very close

Breath in my ear

So I write of you

I draw a picture

In my mind, in my mind

I say your name

Three times for luck

And touch myself

Where I would have you touch me.
